The Desert Sweet Organics' Adopt a Tree Program is ideal for Schools and Youth Organizations - They will watch the principals of Science, Geography, Mathematics, and even Economics being used in a real life example to which they can relate.

Kids Learn

They will become more aware of earth-saving practices.

They will track the distribution network for food (from the farm, to warehouses/distributors, to supermarkets, to homes)

Kids Benefit

Everybody involved in the Adopt of Tree Program can log onto a private Communications Center of our website, see a picture of their tree throughout the different stages of the horticulture process, view the tree's harvest results and apple-storage, and watch the apple storage/packing/shipping process. Kids will learn about earth sustaining practices. By tracking the horticulture and harvest process, they will see how the Science and Mathematics are used every day at the farm. By tracking Valley Farms' distribution process throughout the US, they will see the economical and other implications of an early, late, big, small harvest.

Youth Organizations and Schools Benefit

Youth Organiizations and Schools will have a high quality, Certified Organic item to use for fundraisers. Apples are popular gift items. They are healthy. And Desert Sweet Organics apples are grown in a manner that preserve the earth. Youth organizations and Schools can easily auction 10-lb gift boxes of apples from their tree. The proceeds from the fundraiser can be applied to the expenses from the tree and other uses.

The Adopt a Tree Program can easily be used as a teaching aid in science, mathematics, geography, and economics. Classes can log onto the Communications Center to see the current activities at the farm, answer questions, and participate in other curriculum activities. Valley Farms will work with schools and organizations to design fun, educational material pertaining to the horticulture, harvesting, and distribution activities at the farm. Field trips to Valley Farms can also be arranged so kids can see their tree(s) and the farms' operations in real life.

Families and Communities Benefit

Certified Organic fruit and fruit-Gifts receive a premium in most markets. Many gift baskets/boxes are sold for at least $35 or higher. The low shipping cost of the gift boxes gives schools and organizations the ability to earn a profit and still provide their community with gift boxes at an affordable price.

Valley Farms will take care of your tree throughout the year, pick, store, and pack your apples, and 10-lb gift boxes to schools and families anywhere in the Continental U.S. We will post weekly and monthly messages and photographs pertaining to your tree and apples to the Communications Center.
